Lizzie Le Blond Album 7

“A  Holiday in the Wilds of Arctic Norway”  1901-1902

 

This album contains several photos of, and taken by, Lizzie's third husband Aubrey Le Blond on their honeymoon.  No longer able to climb extensively, Lizzie and Aubrey camped, fished and photographed many of the same locales she had previously used as climb base camps.

 

Mountain climbing was Lizzie's greatest passion, but photography was truly a rival for her affection.  For a decade, she was able to balance both, and when Lizzie's climbing days were done, her photography became the driving force of her existence.
